Incredible Brownie Recipe

Since Valentine’s Day is all about sharing the love – what better way to do it than with a tray of these delicious home cooked chocolate brownies! The perfect gift for partners, friends and family – sometimes it’s the little things that mean the most!

Ingredients

  • 375g soft unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 375g Best quality dark chocolate
  • 6 large eggs
  • Tin measuring approximately 23 x 5.5 cm
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 500g caster sugar
  • 225g plain flour

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C / Gas Mark 4. Line your brownie pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate together in a large heavy-based pan.
  3. In a bowl or large wide-mouthed measuring jug, beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla.
  4. Measure the flour into another bowl and add the salt.
  5. Once the chocolate mixture has melted, let it cool slightly before beating in the eggs and sugar mixture, then the nuts and flour. Beat until combined smoothly, then scrape the mixture into the lined pan.
  6. Bake for about 25 minutes. When ready, the top should be dried to a paler brown speckle, but the middle should still be dark, dense, and gooey!

 

Makes 48 brownies.
